Want to comission me? Contact me at alex@redbladestudios.com!

Do you have a character, monster, or creature you want illustrated? A character from a roleplaying game, a forum avatar, or a character from a MMOG? Anything you care to throw at me, I can manage.

Pricing is just a guideline, so when in doubt, email me the specs, the characters, the scene, and I can give you an estimated quote. The more you care to pay, the more detail I add.

You get the original hand-drawn work, I retain reproduction and portfolio rights (which means I retain the right to produce and sell prints of the piece, should I choose, and to show it as an example of my talents to other future employers and customers). This is negotiable.

B&W Sketch

Pencil sketch, black and white. Often sketchy or with non-specific lines, especially in scenes of motion. Usually used for concept designs.

B&W Inked Drawing

Pencil drawing, black and white, taken to inked lineart. Solid lineart, sometimes with added pencil tones or shading.

Inked Colored Pencil

Inked drawing, with colored pencil applied. Generally simpler shading in full color, or more complex in pure greyscale.

Colored Pencil Drawing

Colored pencil over a drawing. Generally more difficult than doing a colored ink, as it uses more realistic shading.

Digital

Base sketch with inking, then digitally colored. In this case, you receive last- draft of the paper sketch, if there is one, and a flattened, high-quality digital image file. Printed copy available at some extra cost.

To see more examples of my work, please view the galleries above, or check my DeviantART gallery.

Pets, Mounts, or Hordelings

Non-primary characters, often smaller, or reliant on the main character.
Usually undetailed or simplistic in design, at least more so than the actual character. Examples:

  • Paladin's horse
  • Pirate's parrot
  • Druid's bear companion
  • Necromancer's skeletal minion
Sometimes they are instead hordelings, enemies being faced en masse. Examples:
  • Goblins
  • Wolves
  • Undead

I can replicate the styles of several different video game and TV-show styles, so please, list a preferred style in your contact! And please remember, if you have any other questions, just ask me! alex@redbladestudios.com
